Happy Birthday To Me - Words Of Wisdom

    Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

    Birthday Girl

So today is my birthday and I am the big 32. I guess what’s weird is that after you turn 30, birthdays really don’t matter. To be honest I really don’t like birthdays anymore, because the thought of getting old really sucks.

But I suppose it is a day that happens every year and I am suppose to celebrate it. I am more excited about my daughters birthday which is the next day. That was the best birthday present I ever got 5 years ago.

Even though I am turning 32, I am still young in most people’s eyes. However in the affiliate industry, it somewhat makes me old… I love this though. Many of the other affiliates I speak with on a daily basis are all in their early 20’s. If I could go back 10 years I promise you I would be retired right now. Those of you fellow affiliate marketers that read this blog who are still in that age bracket, listen close!

You are in a position unlike most people your age. You have the opportunity to literally make a great life for yourself and build a terrific income before you even turn 30! Make it happen!

If you’re a young affiliate without a wife and kids, now is the time to bust your ass and work mad hours. Trust me, when you get to 32 (cringe) you will be a very happy person. The problem with most people in their early 20’s is that they want to get out of college and make 100K a year while doing nothing. The poker affiliate industry is different though. I see young guys working it and making more than most 50 year olds make after being in Corporate America for 30 years.

Likewise when you are younger, you can afford to take some risks. If there is ever a time in your life to take financial risks, while your young is the time to do it. Money comes and goes, but even to this day I realize that it takes money to make money. Luckily when you’re young however and have a tremendous amount of earning potential, it doesn’t really matter. All it takes is one good investment in the internet market, and a shit load of work and it can return you great money.

I am happy where I am at being 32 years old. But holy cow, I would love to get 10 years back in our industry. The younger guys reading this that are embracing the affiliate industry and learning every day are in the drivers seat. You are the ones that will be owning this industry 10 years from now.

In closing Happy Birthday To Me Bitches! I plan on not working at all today and spending time with my wife and kids before I go to Cyprus for 11 days. Actually I have something really special planned for my wife around 11:00 A.M. tonight for my birthday……I already gave her the tutorial.

On a serious note though, if you are in your early 20’s and an affiliate marketer, you are a very lucky individual. Make the most out of it and build your empire now.

Here is some quick link love to Kaus who is doing a new site about online poker as well. If you want to watch someone build a new and profitable poker affiliate site, keep an eye on this one.

    A Nice Poem If You’re A Father

    Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Those of you that know me realize I work a ton of hours and that I’m very dedicated to my career and success. For me I don’t consider what I do “work” as I truly enjoy every minute of it…….well, almost every minute of it. There is one thing however that I have always put in front of my career and money, and that is my family.

My daughter came home from pre-school the other day with this poem and her footprints on the paper. She is only 5 years old so she really doesn’t even understand what the poem means.

After I read this poem she had brought home, it somewhat touched me and got me thinking. Lately I have been traveling a ton and working very late hours. Unfortunately there is just not enough time in the day! One of the perks however of working out of a home office is that you can take short breaks during the day, or even go in the house and have lunch with the kids.

I really don’t want to wake up someday and say wow, my girls are all grown up! When I do get time with them I try to make it as quality as possible. If I am not working and my kids are awake, you better believe I am playing with them and not being a lazy ass on the couch watching T.V.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share this poem on the blog for any of you guys or gals that also have kids. For me it helped bring things back into perspective and realize why I work so hard.

    Walk A Little Slower Daddy

“Walk a Little slower, Daddy.” said a little child so small.
I’m following in your footsteps and I don’t want to fall.

    Sometimes your steps are very fast, sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower Daddy, for you are leading me.

Someday when I’m all grown up, You’re what I want to be.
Then I will have a little child who’ll want to follow me.

    And I would want to lead just right, and know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy, for I must follow you!!

AffiliatePrograms.com - And Clearing Things Up About PAP - PAW

    Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

I am making this blog post for two reasons. Number one to let people know about what is going on with my new project AffiliatePrograms.com, but also to clear up some questions many of you may have. Trust me, a lot will come clear after you read this. Sorry, it might be long.

Many people are confused as hell and have no idea why I left PAW and the PAW Network. In fact too many people still associate the PAP forums and PAW as one in the same. When I started PartyRiches, I had a dream of building the largest poker affiliate community in the world. Well, I did that and it continues to be a great experience. Then we started a network, and that was very profitable and still is. The PAW Network is actually a brilliant concept.

However a year or so ago I realized that I wanted to do more than just run a poker affiliate community. I love the poker affiliate market, but I also love the general affiliate market. I have always wanted to build the biggest general affiliate forum in the world. Plus I have always wanted to host conferences, and to be honest, be with a U.S. based company.

I’ve known the guys at AffiliatePrograms.com (who are also the parent company of CAP & PAP) for many years. I’ve always believed the way they run their business was second to none. In fact, in the back of my mind I always thought, “I want to partner with these guys”. So last year in Barcelona, I finally sat down with Warren and we had a great talk about the market and the overall future of the industry.

To make a long story short, partnering with them made sense. I wanted to work with a progressive company that owns the affiliate market. Likewise I think in millions, and I wanted the opportunity to manage several different brands and profit centers that will make the company and myself both seven figures. Leaving PAW was tough as my heart and passion is with that community. Luckily I was able to negotiate a deal with PAW to bring the forums over to PAP. This was a dream come true, as it would have made me sick to my stomach to not be a part of the community I founded.

Make no mistake, I walked away from $xxK per month. But in the grand scheme of things it won’t matter. I made the decision based on future expectations.

So enough about that, hopefully you have an idea of why I am here and not at PAW anymore. Besides, PAP and our entire poker operations is thriving and doing extremely well in just 4 short months. On to more exciting things though. I now have the opportunity to build a general affiliate community on the best url and brand there is, AffiliatePrograms.com.

I love building internet communities, and I look at this as a challenge. Every community I have ever ran I have made sure that the members know it is THEIR community, not mine. I hope to do the same thing with AP. The beauty of this opportunity though is that I have the most premium url in the world for this niche, and that the site already gets sick traffic. Although I think building the community will be fairly easy, I also realize the importance of establishing the right Karma and atmosphere within the forum.

So there you have it, that’s my personal story. You will surely here more about AffiliatePrograms.com in the coming days and weeks. For any of the affiliates that regularly read this blog, I’d like to personally invite you to join me in these new Affiliate Forums. Likewise email me your feedback or suggestions on the site. I just told an affiliate today; I would not be where I am at right now if it weren’t for surrounding myself with other successful affiliates.

With This New Blog, I Hereby Declare Myself A Certified Baller

    Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally got a new blog up. There are still some obvious tweaks that need to be made tonight, but overall I have to say I am extremely happy with the way it turned out. I love the design and layout much better than the old design.

Plus I tend to roll into work in Sweat Sedo’s and fleece’s now days, not suits. So with the new design, and my fresh new PAP Sweat Sedo, I am now declaring myself a certified baller. I have been really slammed with work today so I haven’t had much of a chance to mess with the admin area and organize everything yet. I am planning on doing that tonight though. I can’t wait to do a little customizing.

I know this post is pretty boring, however I just couldn’t help but squeezing in a quick post here at the new spot. Big compliments to Bryan Hauer and his new company Omni Theme. ………Back to work :)
