    Back From California

    Friday, February 22nd, 2008

I just got back from California after traveling all day, and here I sit at 12:54 AM posting in my blog. What the hell is wrong with me? Whenever I don’t post in my blog at least once every other day I feel really bad for some reason. Although, why most personal blogs never get massive traffic or a following is because posts are so sporadic. This is why I try post here as often as possible…….even if it is after midnight. A great man once told me “Money Never Sleeps”.

I think the reason this blog actually does well with traffic (not monetarily) is because I update it often and you never know what you are going to read. Likewise I share real life stories about the crazy shit that goes on in my day to day life. So speaking of which, here’s just a couple things from my last trip to our main office.

    1. A great new opportunity - I can’t share all the details right now, but it involves a rebirth of AffiliatePrograms.com. Yes, we own that sick ass domain as well. More to come later, but I am taking the lead on this project. I have built several forums and websites in the past, and building a forum and increasing revenues to a crazy sick level on this website will be very easy……Watch and take notes in the next 2-3 months. :) Maybe I’ll even post some of the business plan here……

    2. PAP Improvements - It’s no secret that PAP blew up after I left PAW and brought the forums over, so no reason to hide it. Now we are in phase 2 though. This week we strategized on all the things we are going to do with PAP in the next quarter such as a radio show, new reviews, translations, add new products, etc. Our goal is to be progressive and give poker affiliates EVERYTHING they need to be successful.

    3. The Poker Conference - This is going to be a really killer event. The site is not even completed and we are already selling booth space from operators. I hear Cyprus is a crazy place too. More to come on this, but the overall planning did take up a lot of my time in Cali. Another executive decision my partner Greg made was to give away a $10K seat to the WSOP at for the affiliate series of poker. I love the idea. How the hell do you say no to this?

Overall it was a very productive trip. I cannot express how happy I am to be partnered with the guys I am partnered with now. It is really a dream come true……Also I promise I will get Karen’s responses up soon to the “Ask My Wife Anything” post. I have other priorities for her right now though than answering blog posts…..I have needs…….Good Night!

Still In California & The Most Popular PAP Thread Ever

    Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Well, I have extended my trip in Cali for an extra day. A few meetings came up that I really didn’t want to miss. Since partnering up with these guys at the beginning of the year, I really cannot express how impressed I am with the overall organization. I have always worked pretty much solo and on my own. However for years I always wondered what it would it would be like in a multi-million dollar internet companies office.

Well……now I get to experience it once a month first hand. It really is unlike anything I have ever seen. Being a key member in an internet company that is seeing massive growth and success is really a cool experience. It also doesn’t hurt that the main office in Southern California.

I will post some pics on the PAP Blog tomorrow.

On a quick side note, contrary to the shitty map widget on the bottom of this blog, there are actually a lot of readers and traffic here. That thing is not correct, and in the coming days I will do a re-design on this site.

I know everyone wants a statement about the FullTilt situation. This post at PAP has become the most popular post ever in the poker affiliate forums. I think this whole situation sucks and it’s probably the worst decision I have ever seen made in our industry. I have taken them off PAP as I cannot support them if these terms stick.

I also a made a public post requesting their CEO contact me. I am doubtful that he will, but I just wonder if he knows what the true long term repercussions of doing this really is. It amazes me that a program as successful as FullTilt would actually kill their program like this. And make no mistake, if this new 60 day policy is enforced, their affiliate department will see a major downswing in sign-ups, not to mention their reputation in the poker affiliate industry.

Many people want me to make a post totally ripping the program, but I do run a business, and personally I’d like to speak with their CEO before publishing something I can’t take back. Maybe I am just an optimist, but I would love to speak with the CEO of FullTilt and have him tell me how this is beneficial to ANY poker affiliate in the world.

I have removed FullTilt however from PAP for the time being until I can speak with someone who can give me a real explanation.

Monday Motivational Message - If This Is The Worst Thing That Happens To You Today…..

    Monday, February 18th, 2008

I know many of you want to read the answers from Karen, however you’ll have to wait a few days.  I am actually in California right now at the PAP headquarters until Wednesday.  I’ll see if I can get her to write some answers and post them Wed. night.

I was thinking for the last couple days about what to write on this Monday.  For those of you in the poker affiliate industry, you know the last few days have been a bit of chaos with the announcement of the new FullTilt terms.  I will leave all my thoughts on that for another post.

But the one thing many who know me often hear me say is “If that’s the worse thing that happens to you today, you’re doing very well.”  So many people let meaningless things ruin their days, weeks, or months.  For example at the airport the other day, our flight was delayed an hour and a half.  There was a lady who was yelling at the ticket agents and making a scene.  How can you be a happy and positive person in life when these types of things get under your skin that bad.

It’s easy to get angry and upset during our daily routines.  It’s difficult however to see past the frustrations and be thankful for what we DO have.  I remember when I worked as a paramedic, I would see so many unfortunate things happen in others lives that truly didn’t make any sense.  No matter how big your problems may seem, there is always someone out there with bigger problems.

OMG, the Fulltilt program changed their terms and I’m potentially going to lose thousands of dollars every month.  This really does suck, but you know what; I still have money in the bank, I am healthy, my family is great, and my business is not going to go under from one program.

The point of this blog post really has nothing to do with FullTilt or the affiliate business.  More so I just wanted to make the point that in the big scheme of things, life is pretty damn short.  I can think of multiple instances when I would have to do CPR on people, who until their accident or cardiac event were healthy and living a normal life.  Every so often you see me write about stories from my days on the ambulance.  Those years in my early twenties altered my entire thought process and how I live my life.

No matter what is going on in your business or personal life, it is always important to remember that it could be worse.  Make it a Great Week!
