Affiliate Speedpay - It Just Makes Sense

    Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Affiliate SpeedpayOne of my new ventures this year is working with the team at Affiliate Speedpay. I have been given the opportunity to join their team and present Affiliate Speedpay to both poker affiliates as well as poker affiliate programs.

I am extremely excited about this product for many reason. A payment solution in the poker affiliate industry like Affiliate Speedpay is long overdue. It is my goal to make Affiliate Speedpay the standard for affiliate payments in our industry. There is really no reason for a poker affiliate program to NOT utilize this product.

If all the affiliate departments would adapt and begin using Affiliate Speedpay as their main payment processing method, it will seriously raise the bar on the level of professionalism in our industry. As poker affiliates, we are business people and that’s how we should be treated by our partners. There is no reason that we should have to be paid our commissions into players accounts. I know from personal expereince as a U.S. affiliate, it has become a headache each month trying to actually get my commissions into my bank account.

Many sites take weeks to send my checks after I request them. One room I get a check from, but then have to wait an additional couple weeks for the check to clear since it is drawn from a bank in London. Then there’s another room that has owed me money for a long time but claims to not have a way to pay me. Collecting commissions from our partners should not be a difficult task.

Affiliate Speedpay can alleviate these issues for the entire industry.

With Affiliate Speedpay, each affiliate receives their own personal bank account through FBME bank. This is a legitimate non U.S. bank account that you can also wire money in and out of. Each affiliate also receives a debit card that can be used throughout the world at any ATM machine with a $10,000 per day withdrawal limit. This means affiliates can finally access their payments the same day they are made.

The fees that the affiliate programs will pay to use the service are not going to be any more than they are already paying to send us checks via couriers after cashing out from our players accounts.

There is no question amongst affiliates that this is an awesome solution for us. WE however need to be the ones driving this change in the industry. Poker affiliate programs have no reason to change when they are currently paying us into players accounts and recirculating our earnings into rake. I encourage any of you who see the value in ASP and would like to see this in our industry to email your affiliate managers. Send a quick email and simply ask them to look into the product.

Don’t worry, I will be hard at work over the next few months working for all of us trying to get the rooms on board. By sending your AM’s an email or simply speaking with them about ASP, you will not only help me, but the entire industry. For any affiliate managers reading this, you can email me at jeremy AT pokeraffiliateprograms.com if you would like more information regarding Affiliate Speedpay.

Monday Morning Motivational Message - “Work Ethic” - It’s not just a buzz word.

    Monday, January 7th, 2008

There can be several reasons why some affiliates struggle to get traction or find success in the affiliate industry. The number one observation I have witnessed about the super affiliates versus many others is their overall work ethic.

We all know what work ethic is, but how many of us can say with conviction that our work ethic is stronger than anyone else we know? Something I have mentioned before and one of fundamentals of work ethic is as follows. It’s easy to look busy and get things done when your boss is watching you or monitoring your work. The truly successful people however are the ones that do the right thing when nobody is watching.

Poor work ethic is like a plague in the poker affiliate industry. For one, many affiliates work from home where there are no checks and balances. Secondly, many poker affiliates also try to play a fair amount of online poker <——It’s virtually impossible to be a professional poker player and super affiliate at the same time. There are several other factors that cause poor work ethic, but in our industry these are the two most prevalent.

I also think it’s comical when an affiliate will brag about how they only work 10 hours a week at best. If you’re driving around in a Bentley or flying in private jets, then fair enough. However, being a successful affiliate is not about barely ever working and getting fat checks each month. What if after his first million, Bill Gates decided to start sleeping in until noon and just be lazy about progressing his business? Well, he would have never made his first Billion!

In reality, 75% of success is simply showing up and actually doing productive work. As an affiliate, if you can work just 40 hours a week, you WILL be successful. But when I say work, I don’t mean checking stats, surfing forums, or playing SnG’s. I mean hard core work like coding, generating content, link building, etc.

BUT, the super affiliates will all tell you that they consistently work way more than 40 hours a week. The beauty of this job though is that you can work 70 hours a week and love every minute of it. To make the big money in this business you have to be willing to abandon the 9-5, Monday through Friday mentality. Many people don’t want to hear that. Likewise they want to forget about business at 5 p.m. every night. And heaven forbid they have to handle some business on the weekends.

work ethicNothing is wrong with thinking this way, but if it’s YOUR mentality, running an internet affiliate business is not for you. I don’t want to give the wrong impression that you need to be a workaholic, or devote 80 hours a week. The point I want to make is that success and work ethic go hand in hand. Nobody in this business that is earning six and seven figures each year got there without busting their asses and putting in long hours.

During the work week, every night you should be able to go to bed and be proud of what you accomplished during the day. It’s easy to be lazy. Having a strong work ethic is all about habit, and more importantly having specific goals. If you do not have specific goals and benchmarks written down, how can you even have strong work ethic? I mean, what is the point of working hard when you do not know what you are working towards.

Nothing is better than when a friend asks you how you’ve gained so much success, and you can simply reply with, “Because I work harder and smarter than anyone else I know.”

    Make it a great week!

Best Rounders Outtake I Have Ever Seen, I’m Famous

    Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

Lately I like to do my personal blog posts either first thing in the morning (now that I am an official early riser). Or I like to do them in the evening.

Tonight I was actually going to write about my new roles at PAP/CAP, and dispel a few misconceptions or confusion people may have about the whole deal. And although this is one of the most exciting times in my life, and I really can’t wait to write about it, this shit is just too good.

John Goldie made this video that is probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Check it out.

Jeremy Enke’s 2008 New Years Resolutions

    Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

I have actually been dreading writing this post. To be honest I am fairly certain that I have never made any “serious” New Year’s Resolutions. And if I did, I probably wouldn’t have kept them anyways. This year is different though. I feel I have more focus than I have ever had before throughout my entire business career. I feel confident when I say, “I am at the top of my game.”

I feel blessed to be in the position I am in today with so many great opportunities. So thinking about what I can change in 2008, the first thing that comes to mind is health. There’s no doubt that I am healthy right now, but to be honest I feel as if I could be a lot healthier. I remember working on the ambulance years ago and seeing 40-50 year olds having heart attacks. Likewise look what happened to Chip Reese. I mean, you really can’t put a price tag or value on your overall health. And at 31 years old, I need to start thinking long term.

Although it’s cliche, my New Years Resolutions involve taking care of myself this year, and changing my eating and sleeping habits. I won’t say “getting in shape”, because I’m really not out of shape. I could write a bunch of business stuff, but quite frankly I am a do’er and I know these goals will come to fruition. So, here we go. Oh, and it wouldn’t be a true Jeremy Enke list without a nice New Years Eve Hottie.

Sexy New Years Girl1. Normal Sleep Schedule - Over the past year, my sleep schedule has been a mess. Working with an Australian company did not help either. Typically they were online all night and offline all day. There were times I’d be up until 3:00 AM working. I’m too old for that, so from now on Monday through Friday, I am going to bed at 11:00 every night. Odds are I might will even get laid more in 2008 going to bed the same time as the wife.  It’s about to be her lucky year, and she doesn’t even know it yet. :)

    2. Become an Early Riser - Every success book I ever read speaks about being an early riser. Going to bed at 11:00 will allow me to get up every morning at 6:00 AM. I love getting up early and being the only one in the house awake. I might even use this time to work out.

    3. Triathlon Training - Gym Membership - I am joining a kick ass gym by our house. I will never be a weight lifter, but I am a former marathon runner. So I am going to train at least three times a week on the bike, treadmill, road, and in the pool. This summer I will complete my first triathlon of some sort.

    4. Eat Better, Drink Less - I eat like shit and have never watched my diet. Luckily I have a great metabolism so I never gain weight. But I imagine my cholesterol has got to be pretty high by now. Likewise I love to drink beer when I am out with the guys. Sometimes when I drink I will partake in a cigarette or two also. Nothing good can come out of either of these things, plus it’s not conducive to cross training.  So like the other 52,435,732 New Years Resolutions in America, I am going to eat right and exercise.

    5. Make More Money Than I Ever Have In My Life - Do any of you reading this really think I would NOT have at least one resolution that involved money? This year I will make more money inside of 12 months than I ever have before in my entire life.

That is all, Make It A Great Year!
