Buying and Selling Sites and Some PAW Downtime
October 24th, 2007 by Jeremy EnkeYou may have noticed that PAW is either down today or experiencing some massive lag today. Don’t worry, the vbulletin forum was not hacked again. Finally I was able to get the guys to move PAW to a new server. Hopefully this will alleviate the downtime that PAW seems to experience way to often. This is actually way overdue.
In some exciting news, Kyle and I are in the process of selling one of our sites together. Providing there are no last minute snags in the deal, we will have a nice 5 figure payday. It kind of sucks to see this site go, but I think the time has come. Both of us are extremely busy with our own personal projects, and to be honest it really isn’t fair to Kyle having to do 99% of the work. If you know Kyle, then you probably know this dude works 22 1/2 hours a day and never sleeps.
Nonetheless I think liquidating the site will be good for both of us. Not only will it put some extra green in our pockets, it will get us motivated to do something big, and I mean really BIG. We are in the process of potentially developing something that could make the profits of this site made look like peanuts.
I have mentioned before that I have a lot on my plate which is true. But I am still always looking to grow my business. I have been looking for a few weeks to buy some new websites that are established but somewhat stagnant. My plan is to buy the sites and hire content writers to grow them. Likewise I have quite a few connections in the poker affiliate industry, so doing SEO and getting some decent backlinks shouldn’t be to hard.
Either that or I am going to develop one of the aged domains I have. It’s really a toss up right now. Actually I don’t even know why I am so gung ho about adding another site or putting even more work into my daily schedule. It should be a fun experiment though to see how well a new site can do outsourcing almost everything. Figuring out the foundation seems to be the hardest part right now. What domain, what CMS platform, do I buy a site, do I develop an old domain. decisions, decisions.
See you on the flipside when PAW is back up. Hopefully the Lithuanians have a handle on what they’re doing. With PAW down, the only logical thing to do right now would be to go golfing. Adios

I suppose an “About Me” page is where you would expect to read a third person professional write up on myself. Hmmm…. well that’s not really my style, so I’ll just go ahead and tell you “about me” in my own words.

Would be fun to know some of the sites you run. Happy golfing!

Congrats on the sale Jeremy. What online industries do you consider to be some of the upcoming ones?

That’s why beers were on you Thursday night… LOL. BTW, you’re a nut for golfing in these temps. I don’t care if it was Aldeen!
